Rás Tailteann 2024 to visit Ballyhoura Country
The first stage of the Rás Tailteann 2024 takes place on Wednesday, May 22 beginning in Tullamore and passing through Ballyhoura Country - Caherconlish, Ballyneety, Holy Cross, and Bruff, before finishing on the main street of Kilmallock. Cyclists are expected to reach Caherconlish from 2.30pm making their way to the first stage finish in Kilmallock from 3pm onwards next Wednesday afternoon.
After heading for Kerry on the 23rd, Rás Tailteann 2024 will be back in Ballyhoura Country on Friday May 24th as stage 3 takes in Doneraile, Farahy, Kildorrery, Mitchelstown and Kilbehenny before heading to its finish in the Munster Vales town of Cahir. Cyclists are expected to reach Doneraile from 1pm, passing through Mitchelstown from 1.30pm.
Rás Tailteann itself is spread over five different stages covering 784.8 kilometres of Irish roads and is one of the largest cycling races of its kind in Ireland. Spectators are encouraged to get out early, line the streets and welcome the cyclists as they pass through Ballyhoura Country.
