Tory Hill House and Farm
Tory Hill House and Farm is situated just outside Croom, at the heart of a of special area of conservation in the Ballyhoura region, and is run by three generations of women who are all passionate about agriculture, nature, wildlife and biodiversity. Between them, Catherine, Kate and Hannah have a lifetime of experience and bring a lot of care and attention to what they do. Together, they've strived to create a farm that punches well above it's weight and showcases how we can work in harmony with nature while making an income from a small farm in rural Ireland.
This small family farm produces raw milk and grass fed beef as well as offering eggs, yoghurt and occasionally ice cream and butter in the small farm shop. Produced a slower way, Tory Hill's small herd of cows graze on rich, wildflower meadows and are milked just once-a-day. Tory Hill House is proud to farm organically and works with the aim of balancing nature with farm work.
Tory Hill offer half day butter, yoghurt and ice cream making courses, where people can learn about traditional, Irish methods of making dairy products on a small, scale. The half day course allows participants to see cows being milked in the morning and follow the progress of the milk being made into dairy products - it's a unique hands on experience! Dates will be advertised at the Tory Hill website and through our events listings.
Tory Hill House and Farm also offer private bespoke farm tours suitable for small groups where visitors are given private access to this family farm and guided around by a member of the family. Activities can include a farm and garden tour of this very special farm that has stood for over 500 years and includes a medieval monastery and 300 year old farmhouse. Please email for details and to arrange a tour.
