The Schoolyard Theatre is a community-based arts venue located in a former school building dating back to 1833. Established in 1993, the theatre has played a significant role in the cultural life of Charleville and the wider North Cork / South Limerick region, and continues to do so today.

The theatre aims to provide a welcoming space where people can come together to appreciate and participate in the Arts. Over the years, it has contributed greatly to raising awareness of culture through the staging of plays by Irish authors, as well as productions by visiting groups from other countries.
