Shannon House Restaurant
Shannon House Restaurant in Castleconnell, Co. Limerick, opened in June 2021, and for local chef John O'Donnell, it is a dream come true.
A warm, friendly, homely coffe shop/café situated in the heart of the beautiful village, with a relaxed country feel to make visitors feel at home. Most of the food, pastries and bread are made in-house and can be purchased to take home.
John takes pride in sourcing all of his products from local producers. Tony McDermott the local butcher, supplies meat, while George Lee, the local grocer, supplies milk. Robert Roberts Coffee Company provides them with coffee and specialty teas.
John's culinary approach is traditional with a touch of modern mix to keep things interesting; it's nice to have a diversity to cater to varied tastes. All-day full Irish breakfasts and baps, omelettes, Cajun wraps, and tuna melts are proving to be a hit with customers of all ages, but you can also taste a traditional bacon & cabbage, Shepherd's pie, lasagne or steaks. These dishes are made entirely from scratch in the kitchen.
The restaurant seats 20-25 people inside, 10-12 people outside the front area and another 20 people in a lovely covered outdoor space in the private back garden
John & his team welcome everyone to their small home away from home, including locals, tourists, and passers-by.
