This 4.8 km trail follows the Ballyhoura Nature Trail, but includes a longer section of forest road and track, marked by orange waymarkers. The route passes close to the fast-flowing stream known as Gleann Easa Mór - the Glen of the Great Waterfall. This loop also incorporates the Trim Trail, which features 19 different obstacles designed for both children and adults of all fitness levels to help improve and maintain physical fitness.

This walk brings you through beautiful stands of mature Scot's Pine and Beech as it follows forest tracks and trails over the Lyre na Freaghaun stream, alongside Sitka Spruce plantations and adjacent to Gleann Easa Mór. The trail ascends what is locally known as “Lenihan’s Steps” - please take care and watch for mountain bikers - before beginning the return journey to the car park.
