Kilmoylan Loop
Enjoy a peaceful looped walk through the leafy surrounds of Kilmoylan Woods, starting and finishing in Doon Village, Co. Limerick.
This easy, family-friendly trail follows a mix of footpath, maintained gravel paths, farmland edges and forestry, offering a lovely opportunity to slow down and enjoy local nature and biodiversity. Along the route, walkers can discover a variety of mini habitats, including 16 species of trees and shrubs, 6 species of bumblebee, and many butterflies and insects.
The walk is mostly level, making it suitable for a range of fitness levels, as well as a great option for families, nature lovers and trail runners. Approximately halfway along the route, the path crosses a small local river, where seating is available.

Parking is available at Doon Community Centre, where there is also a map of the walk. The loop can be walked clockwise, beginning along the footpath out of the village before joining the gravel path through farmland and forestry, and returning to the village by footpath.
