The K17 Bistro in Knocklong, Co. Limerick, was opened in 2022 by Shane Keogh, a local man with over 30 years of experience in the catering industry. His idea was simple: good locally sourced food at affordable prices in a relaxed and comfortable setting.

One of Shane's goals was to ensure that the menu was inclusive. Allergen information is clearly stated, and alternatives are provided. The vegetarian/gluten-free options are delicious, and the children's menu has proven to be very popular. Overall, K17 serves breakfast, lunch, soup, sandwiches, and salads, as well as a variety of minerals and barista coffees.

The full Irish breakfast, Shane's Thai beef salad, K17 curry (Shane's secret recipe), and paninis have become firm favorites. There are multiple specials every day, which are advertised on Facebook. The mix between such traditional favorites (bacon and cabbage and Irish stew) is definitely working for Shane and his crew and customers alike.

All dishes are also available to take away or enjoy in our 40-seater Bistro. We also take bookings for parties and special events.

K17 Bsitro also provides outside catering for community events such as the GAA, local schools, and fundraising events, as well as for private events such as birthdays, communions, confirmations, etc.

K17 is located between many historical and activity-based areas in the beautiful Ballyhoura region. K17 is situated 15km from Lough Gur Visitor Centre, 20km from Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trails, and 14km from the Galtee Mountains, to name a few.
