Hodgins Sausages is a family-run business based in Mitchelstown, Co. Cork. Run by craft butcher Mervin and his wife, Monica, they employ over 30 people in their new purpose-built factory outside Mitchelstown where they produce their speciality ranges of Hodgins sausages and puddings.

How it all started

Mervin, a former butcher, moved into sausage-making full-time in 2003 such was the demand for these delicious butchers sausages made from an old recipe. We use a combination of finest quality Irish pork along with or a unique blend of spices to create for you a great tasting sausage bursting with flavour. We use Irish pork in our sausages as we firmly believe that the secret to a great tasting sausage is to use the best pork as possible. Hodgins is one of the highest pork sausages around.

Indeed, that commitment to excellence was recognised recently when Hodgins Sausages featured on RTE’s Nationwide programme which focused on Mervin’s journey from a small butcher's shop in Mitchelstown to building a brand that is now a major player in the sausage market.
