Crokers Bee Farm is a family-run farm with sheep and beef cattle, a vegetable garden, fruit garden and allotments and a variety of poultry including ducks, geese and hens.

It is also one of the Ballyhoura Outdoor Classrooms where you can explore the amazing life and work of the Honey bee.

Croker’s Bee farm provides a hands-on, interactive workshop on bees. The workshop includes an Observation Hive where children can spot the queen, worker and drones in a safe environment. Examination of the bee accessories in the bee store room & do some fun activities which enable the children to develop an understanding of the duties of different bees & the massive importance of the Honey bee in our environment.

Having watched a short video of pollination the children will discuss how human activities affect pollination. Children will tour our apiary and note the plants and flowers that encourage the production of honey. Children will be enabled to develop their scientific skill set as they observe, plan, discuss, investigate, record & re-evaluate through an engaging & and inspiring child-centred workshop.
