Enquire

The Ballyorgan Loop has a variety of terrain and scenery, from shady riverside glades to hilltop panoramas, and some good points of interest along the way. It starts in the Village of Ballyorgan and follows the red arrows from the village, across the field where you will come to Kilflynn Church.

The walk then takes you back onto the road and to Ballydonohoe Bridge, where you join the bank of the Keale River, which you stay on until you reach Darragh Bridge. From here the loops overlap. You continue to follow the red arrow and this will bring you up Boreen Darragh which leads to the woodland track. Continue on towards CastleGale where you can enjoy the views before continuing on over the top and descending a short distance. Continue to follow the red arrows and cross some fields before joining the forest path, then continue on the ascent to the summit of Carrigeenamronely. You then descend the loop until you meet the forest road and turn left.

You leave the forest, turn left and continue on the road about 200m where the waymarkers will direct you right onto a farm and down the laneway to re-join the Keale river. At this point, you will turn left and continue on this path back to the starting point. This is the same path you walked on the outward leg.
