Ballyorgan, Keale River & Castlegale Guided Walk with Declan Clancy
Join local guide Declan Clancy for an autumn guided walk through the countryside surrounding Ballyorgan, combining peaceful riverside trails, local heritage, woodland and upland scenery.
Starting in Ballyorgan village, the route follows the trail towards the historic 19th-century Kilflynn Anglican Church before continuing to Ballydonoghue Bridge.
From here, the walk follows the peaceful banks of the Keale River towards Darragh, offering a quieter stretch of countryside along the way. The route then continues onto Boreen Dearg before climbing towards Castle Gale, returning to Ballyorgan to complete the loop.
This varied 15km walk is a great opportunity to explore some of the lesser-known trails and landscapes of the Ballyhoura region with a local guide who has spent decades walking these hills.
