Darragh Hills Loop Walk
Join Declan for a guided walk through the scenic Darragh Hills, taking in forest trails, open hillsides, mountain views and the beautiful Molanna River valley.
Starting at Darragh Creamery, the route follows Boreen Dearg and a nature trail before ascending to Carrighenry (310m). From there, walkers follow the county boundary line across the hills, tackling a series of challenging climbs before reaching the summit of Kilcruaig (401m). The route then descends through forest and woodland to Garryarthur before crossing the road and following the Molanna riverbank back to Darragh.
This is a rewarding hillwalk offering a mix of woodland, mountain scenery and local heritage, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy the landscapes of this lesser-known corner of the Ballyhoura region.
