An Illustrated Talk on Galtee Place Names & Mapping with Barry Dalby

Join Barry Dalby of EastWest Mapping, renowned cartographer and author of Map Man – Irish Maps & Mapping, for an illustrated evening talk at Barnahown, Mitchelstown.

Barry will share insights into the process of creating detailed walking maps, exploring how landscapes are surveyed and mapped and looking at the history and origins of place names across the Galtee Mountains and surrounding areas.

EastWest Mapping has been providing specialist surveying and cartographic services since 1990. Its detailed maps have become a familiar companion for hillwalkers and outdoor enthusiasts exploring Ireland’s mountains and countryside.

The evening will be of particular interest to hillwalkers, local history and heritage enthusiasts, map lovers and anyone curious about the landscape of the Galtees.
