Three historic family homes came together, opening their doors to tours. This is a unique opportunity to experience a window on Ireland’s past, and make history come alive.
Listen to the owners discuss the history of their historic family homes, tracing the house’s history through time, and revealing the fascinating untold stories of those who lived there long ago.
While enjoying the scenery amidst the heart of the Golden Vale, you will tour 12th-century Castlegarde, the oldest continually inhabited, haunted castle in Ireland.
With its 1820's extension architecture by the famed Pain brothers, watched by obscure stone effigies and haunted by the mysterious lady in silk, Castlegarde is just begging to be explored!
Grenane House is a breathtaking Georgian home set amid 300 acres, where the family has resided since the early 17th century.
Enjoy a stroll through Victorian walled gardens and feast your eyes on a children's playroom that will make you feel as though you've turned the page into your very own storybook.
With magnificent views of the Galtee Mountains, Lismacue House is a classically proportioned picturesque Georgian Home set amid a 200 acre estate. It has been family owned and occupied since 1704.
Lismacue House boasts gorgeous and unique palsterwork with high ceilings and original wallpaper from 1813.
A Sample 1 Day Tour Itinerary
10:30 am - Tour 1 - Arrive at Castlegarde Castle
- Tour of castle and grounds with owner David Thompson. Morning Tea/Coffee and homemade scones.
1 pm - Tour 2 - Arrive at Lismacue House
- Tour of the house with owner Kate Nicholson. Light lunch.
3 pm - Tour 3 - Arrive at Grenane House
- Tour of house and garden with owner Philippa Mansergh-Wallace. Afternoon Tea.
5pm - Tour finishes at Grenane House.
