Glen of Aherlow Winter Walking Festival 2026


The annual Glen of Aherlow Winter Walking Festival returns to Tipperary over the weekend of January 30th 2026. It is organised by the Glen of Aherlow Fáilte Society in association with the Galtee Walking Club and Hillwalking Radio Club will hold seven guided walks over three days.

Saturday A walkers can enjoy the beauty of the Slievenamuck ridge whilst being spoiled by the Galtee mountain views on route, while B Walkers will take in Lake Borheen the C group will walk the Rock on Tarbh loop starting and finishing at Aherlow House.

On Sunday Walkers will have a choice of a 14km A Walk of the Galty Horseshoe the B walk will be the Lough Curra Loop for our more advanced hill walkers and the C walk is a 12km walk from the Millennium Stone to Aherlow House.

    An easy walk to welcome everybody to the Festival - through the Nature Park to the statue of Christ the King & back to the Hotel
    Walking Time: 1 hr
    Registration and payment for this walk will also be possible at Aherlow House on the night.

    The 3 Dolmen Walk

The Base Point for all walks is Aherlow House Hotel. Buses are provided to drop off and collect from each walk. Route Maps will be available for all walks.
