Ballyhoura Garden Experience
The Ballyhoura Garden Experience brings together three beautiful gardens of Ballyhoura Country, three plant sales outlets and a local hotel to combine a fantastic day out or weekend for gardening aficionados.
Cahernorry Church & Gardens is situated in a lovely village Ballyneety in Co. Limerick. Cahernorry Church is a gothic limestone former Church of Ireland originally built in 1809. Over the past 30 years, Des & his family have sensitively restored the Church into their family home and have created stunning formal gardens within the one-acre site.
Des is a full-time garden designer, a Winner of RTE Super garden 2017 and Silver medallist at Bloom 2017. His garden contains statues, topiary, formal & informal ponds, a Round Tower, a stone circle and beautiful walls made from reclaimed brick. He also restored the four graves within the grounds out of respect for the deceased and their descendants.
This garden experience is for groups only (min. 10 people) and Church is not open to visitors. Open from May to September by booking only. Entrance fee €10 per person (Children Free)
Coolwater in Fedamore a wonderfully, artistically designed, half-acre garden, stepping to the beat of a different drum with its stunning Water Garden and many alpine troughs containing very choice plants and an almost chimerical West Garden - don't expect any lawns and borders in this garden!
Overlooked on one side by Skule Hill and on the other by Rockstown Castle, it has been designed for year round structure and shape. The ponds in the West garden together with that in the Water Garden have also encouraged a superabundance of native aquatic wildlife.
Guided tour including refreshments in the pagoda is €10 per person. Strictly advance booking only. There is a special rate for groups of €8 per person based on a minimum of 10 people booking.
Rockbarton Garden Centre is an award-winning garden centre that first opened in October 2015. Rockbarton is located in a unique and beautiful 18th Century courtyard, which provides fantastic olde world charm.
A few minutes from scenic Lough Gur Lake and the ancient Grange Stone Circle just outside Bruff. Rockbarton takes pride in its high-quality plants and its first-class customer service. A full range of trees, shrubs, bedding and flowers are available all year round.
Rockbarton hosts many events throughout the year, including plant-based workshops, flower arranging, wreath-making workshops, fairs and also markets throughout the year.

The Ahern Nursery & Plant Centre at Sherin's Cross is a veritable paradise for any plants person. Wander around our growing tunnels bursting with flowers, lose yourself amongst the outdoor herbaceous beds and let your senses be tickled by the sounds and scents of our busy plant centre.
Open Monday to Friday 9.30am to 6pm
Sundays 2pm to 6pm
Alan and Josie opened their Specialist Rose Centre in Kilfinane in 2011, due to their mutual love of roses. Situated in Josie’s award-winning garden, ablaze with colour and a joy to behold, the centre is home to a huge stock of up to 3,000 roses with over 200 varieties including old fashioned roses and David Austin English roses.
Relax in Josie’s Tea House, enjoy the visitor garden and the wonderful landscape of the Ballyhoura mountains.

Deebert House Hotel in Kilmallock is the ideal stop for a true taste of Ballyhoura Country. Morning coffee or afternoon tea & homemade scones.
