The Mitchelstown Cave is considered one of the most spectacular caves in Europe. Visitors and group outings are shown daily through almost a half mile of this world famous showcave which includes three caverns, in which visitors are surrounded by indescribable dripstone formations stalactites, stalagmites and huge calcite columns

Mitchelstown Cave has to be seen at leisure so that its timeless masterpieces of nature become vividly imprinted on ones memory. A visit to the cave is a must on the visitors itinerary. A haven of mystery and intrigue, it is a chilling and exciting place for visitors and explorers alike. Up to 70m in depth, the showcave boast some spectacular calcite formations; the Tower of Babel, standing at 10metres high, is a wonderous sight and a timeless tribute to the power and wonder of nature.


Mitchelstown Cave is located midway between Cahir and Mitchelstown just off the N8. (Exits 12 or 11 on the M8)
