Whether you enjoy hiking, biking or horse riding, this weekly tour has something for you. No need to worry about directions and how to get to the wonderful Ballyhoura Mountains as we take you by private coach to this outdoor playground. The Ballyhoura region is approximately a 90 minute drive from Cork City and remains one of the best kept secrets in the country. This is one tour, but there are three different activity options that can be booked. Both the hiking and biking depart from the same trailhead where a small shop, vending machines and showers are available. While the horse riding takes place at a separate nearby venue.

Option One, hiking:  There are miles/kilometres of wonderful way-marked hiking trails to explore, getting you back to nature and away from the city. The hiking terrain consists mainly of forestry tracks, open moorland and filled paths. Some of the upland sections can become very wet so suitable walking attire is recommended. Moderate fitness is only required as you decide how far you wish to go. These are trails that are rarely busy offer dramatic views and are the perfect antidote to the business of everyday life.

Option Two, biking:  Prepare to get the adrenaline flowing with a state of the art mountain bike as you explore Irelands largest mountain biking terrain with over 90 Kilometres of off-road trails. Having recently hosted the European Mountain Biking Championships, the bike trail is the largest network of its kind in Ireland. The course is made up of a series of extending loops with increasing technical complexity the further you go with some wonderful downhill sections that will literally have you on the edge of your seat.

Option Three, horse riding:  Moving away the mountain biking areas to the townland of Kilfinnane, the horse riding terrain brings you off in to other rarely seen areas of the mountains. Fresh fields, forest trails and nature await your company. Amazing vistas of the Galtee Mountains (Irelands largest inland mountain range) are on offer so dont forget to bring your camera. The riding is generally quite easy, but some additional areas of challenge for more experienced riders also exist. It is important to bring suitable clothes for this activity when you will spend a full 2hours 30 minutes on the ride-out.
