Cappamore is a small town in the north east of County Limerick on the R505 road. Located in a valley close to the Mulkear River and overlooked by the Slieve Felim Mountains Cappamore has a prominent dairy industry, with a popular Cappamore Agricultural Show every year in August.Cappamore is also a popular rural base for salmon fishing the Mulkear, which is renowned as one of the finest Salmon Rivers in Ireland. There is a childrens playground located at the Community Centre in the town.Cappamore is approximately 20 minutes driving time from Limerick city. It has a rich agricultural hinterland in which the dairy industry is prominent. The town has several pubs and grocery shops. Other services include a dry cleaner, bookmaker shop and veterinary clinic.It is also a parish in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly.The sport of hurling is probably the most popular in Cappamore but Gaelic football, athletics (Bilboa AC) and soccer (Cappamore Celtic FC) have grown in popularity in recent years, along with ladies soccer now growing under Bilboa Ladies Soccer Team.

Limerick County Council has developed a playground at the Cappamore Community Sports Centre. This playground has a wide range of play facilities suitable for children of all ages including children with disabilities.
The play equipment includes flat swings, cradle swings, inclusive swing, spinner, nexus free ride, rockers, play panels, toddler multi play unit and senior multi play unit.
The playground is open during daylight hours.

Cappamore Agricultural Show is one of Irelands leading One Day Shows and is very highly regarded among exhibitors and regular Show supporters throughout the Munster region as well as nationally. The Show was founded in 1954 and has run continually since. Cappamore Show is distinctive in that it incorporates both displays and competitions in areas such as Cookery, Crafts, Agricultural and Horticultural produce and other areas that draw on the traditional skills, arts and crafts of the region, as well as more traditional Show sections such as Cattle and Horse showing and jumping classes.

Cappamore Camogie Club was founded in May 2006. Started with under 12 but within months they had under 14’s and under 16’s. They did not take part in any competition that year. Started in 2007 competitions and performed very well at all ages. They are now hoping to start a junior team for anyone over 16.
