Clonshire Equestrian Centre is internationally renowned as one of the most successful equestrian centres in Ireland.  The Centre is approved by the Irish Government, the BHS (British Horse Society) and AIRE (Association of Irish Riding Establishments) as a registered Training and Examination Centre for career programmes. It is also used by the University of Limerick for the practical and ridden sections of their Equine Science Degree program and the centre. Both children and adults training at Clonshire have competed successfully at National and International level.

Thereputic riding and special needs riding also form an important part of the business and Clonshire has been host to the National Special Olympics twice in recent years with Clonshire riders winning Gold and Silver Medals in the trail riding section.

Set in 120 acres of green Parkland in the golden Vale of Ireland and adjacent to the beautiful village of Adare in Co. Limerick, Clonshire offers a premium experience for all from those wanting a gentle pleasure hack to more intensive professional training.

We boast experienced highly-qualified staff, well schooled top-class horses and ponies, and extensive facilities all in a safe and secure environment.

Many of our horses have gone on to compete internationally for riders such as Mark Todd and Karen Dixon. Aoife Clark has also competed for Ireland at the London 2012 Olympics on one of our horses.

Clonshire is located within thirty minutes drive from Shannon International Airport which has daily flights from the USA, Great Britain and many other EU countries. Adare has a wide variety of accommodation available to suit all budgets, including many hotels which are internationally renowned.

Clonshire Equestrian Centre was founded in 1992 by Lord Harrington, Master of the Limerick Hounds. It has been managed by leading equestrian professionals Dan and Sue Foley for the last 20 years and is now established as a renowned centre of excellence providing tuition in horse riding, training, camps/holidays and therapeutic riding for all levels or experience and ages.

Career Student Programme
This is a full time training programme following the British Horse Society examination system. There are several stages to this programme and students can chose which sections to take. This programme is very intense with riding morning and afternoon as well as lectures in practical and oral stable management. Exams are practical and oral involving Riding and Horse Knowledge and Care.

On attaining the high standard of Horsemanship required and on successful completion of all the exams, students are conferred with a professional qualification ( name) that is recognized worldwide by the horse industry.
Recommended duration of stay to attain required level 2 – 3 months.
Customized courses can also be designed to suit student requirements.
Accommodation is on site.

We offer separate programmes to suit both the needs of children and adults.

Adults programmes typically run for 5 days and are customised to individual requirements and can be leisure or clinic based.
